Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Forward Christine Wooding netted a career-high 29 points to lead the Philadelphia University women's basketball team to an 83-31 victory over visiting Washington Adventist University in a non-conference contest Monday afternoon in the Gallagher Athletic Center.
Wooding, who also grabbed 11 rebounds to complete her seventh double-double of the year, went a perfect for 15-for-15 from the free throw line and set the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference record for free throw percentage in a game. The previous record was 13-for-13 by former Lady Ram Jessica Romano against Post on Jan. 31, 2009.
The last time the Lady Rams (8-3) won by 52 was exactly one year ago in a 79-27 home win over Wilmington (Del.) University.
Forward Taylor Peltzer netted 13 points and guard Megan Finn scored 10 and grabbed a career-high six rebounds. Forward Kristen Blye set her career-best in rebounding with 12. Guard Stephanie Agger scored six points and is now 76 points away from 1,000 in her career. Wooding is right behind Agger, needing 79.
The Lady Rams shot 41.5 percent (22-of-53) from the field, and, with the help of Wooding's perfect day, hit 90.0 percent (36-of-40) of their free throws. Philadelphia controlled the glass with a 54-37 rebounding edge.
Washington Adventist's (3-5) Quianna Tiggle scored 10 points. The Lady Shock were held to 20.6 percent (14-of-68) overall and 0-of-14 from three-point range.
The Lady Rams are off for the next 10 days and return to action on Friday, Dec. 30 against visiting East Stroudsburg University in a non-conference clash at 5 p.m.
