Lynch's hat trick helps men's soccer beat Bloomfield 7-2

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – Led by a second half hat-trick from Jordan Lynch (Brampton, Ontario/St. Marguerite d'Youville), the Philadelphia University men's soccer team scored six unanswered goals in the final 32 minutes of a 7-2 victory over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Bloomfield Saturday afternoon on Foley Field.

The Rams are above .500 for the first time this season as they improve to 4-3-1 overall, 2-2-1 against the CACC. Bloomfield is 2-5-0 overall, 2-1-0 in conference play.

After playing to a 1-1 deadlock in the opening 45 minutes, Bloomfield took a 2-1 lead on a Charles Crichlow 49th minute goal.

The Rams tied the score in the 59th minute on Dominic Rodriguez's (Pennsauken, N.J./Pennsauken) team-leading four goal of the season. Ishmaiah Calwrie (Baltimore, Md./Randallstown) picked up an assist on the equalizing goal.

Lynch put Philadelphia ahead 4-2 with back-to-back goals in the 64th and 67th minute. His first goal came on a deflection and the second one came off a feed from Zach Brown (Bowie, Md./St. John's College).

Five minutes later, Calwrie put his name in the goal column with a successful tap-in from in tight for his third goal of the year.

Lynch completed his hat trick in the 84th minute to put Philadelphia ahead 6-2. Patrick Groh (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) finished off the scoring by volleying home a C.J. Moore (Atlanta, Ga./McEachern) pass in the 87th minute. Groh brought his goal total up to three.

Thomas Attamante (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) earned the victory after stopping two shots in the opening 80:08. The Bears' Wilson Cisneros made seven saves.

Philadelphia led 1-0 on a Victor Chagonda (Harare, Zimbabwe/St. George's) chip over Cisneros in the 30th minute. Shacquille Brown tied the score for the Deacons with a 42nd-minute goal.

The Rams outshot the Bears 19-8.

Philadelphia hosts Molloy in a non-conference match on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 3:30 p.m.
