Philadelphia, PA – Over 50 Jefferson Student-Athletes showed up a Drexel University in support of the Special Olympics Polar Plunge. Many of the athletes took the plunge. Together the athletes raised over $1,000 toward Special Olympics and the inclusion initiative.
Besides participating in the Polar Plunge, the athletic department has continued its partnership with Special Olympics through different events. This past October, the Jefferson Rams Athletic Department hosted and participated in the Special Olympics Youth Summit. Nearly 70 students from 17 Philadelphia high schools came together for an interactive educational experience focused on developing collaborative and inclusive leadership skills and empowering students to affect positive climate within their schools.
The next event the Rams will be hosting with Special Olympics is the 5th annual bocce ball championship which is scheduled for January 14th.
