Women's Lacrosse Coasts To Home Win over Caldwell

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's lacrosse team (5-4, 4-0 CACC) remained undefeated in the CACC with a dominant 21-7 victory over visiting Caldwell (1-9, 0-3 CACC) on Saturday afternoon.

GAMEPLAY
The teams went back-and-forth early on with each squad posting three goals in the opening 5:27 of action. The Rams took control with a six-goal rally that ended at the 13:44 mark. Sophomore Camryn Sullivan led the charge with two goals and two assists. After the Cougars cut the deficit to five (9-4), Jefferson ended the half with five straight tallies and held a 14-4 lead at the intermission.

Freshman Kanha Stockford recorded the first marker of the second period just 20 seconds in and Caldwell answered at 28:44. The Rams potted four consecutive for a 19-5 advantage with 11:23 to go. Each team netted two goals in the last 10 minutes.

Jefferson won the battle in ground balls (31-14), draw controls (19-10) and shots (46-14) and the Rams were 13-for-15 on clear attempts while holding the Cougars to just 12-of-25.

Freshman Melanie Goldstein was the winning goalkeeper, turning away two shots in 39:43. Fellow rookie Kelsey Kaplowitz played the last 20:17 and made one save.
