Women's Lacrosse Uses Balance Offense to Earn Win Over Neumann
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse (4-2) had their first of three straight home games as they hosted Division III institution Neumann University (2-4), where the Rams earned an 18-8 win against the Knights.
WHAT HAPPENED
- First quarter had three scores by Jefferson with Reagan Rogers putting up two goals while Megahan Avanzato found her shot in the back of the net. Neumann added a score to make it 3-1 after the opening 15 minutes
- The Rams delivered five goals in the second with Rogers delivering her third of the game so far. After a Knights score, Rogers and Gluck had the game 6-2. Maggie Miller turned it to a 6-3 contest for Neumann, but I. Gluck and Taylor Hood put their shots in net to make the game a 8-3 lead for Jefferson at the break
- The Rams began the third with four straight goals, Emily Ryder and Lilly Lutz had one apiece while Hood delivered the other two. Neumann responded with three of their own as Jefferson led 12-6 in the final quarter
- After Miller made it a 12-7 contest, the Rams went to make the next six goals as Rogers put up four straight while Lindley Gori and Ava Sztenderowicz finished it out. Jefferson ended up winning 18-8
