Women's Lacrosse Holds Off Late Comeback; Wins Fifth Straight

PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse (6-2) held their third straight home match as they took on Millersville University (3-5) in Wednesday afternoon non-conference action. The Rams scored seven straight goals in the second and third quarter to earn a 11-7 victory over the Marauders. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• Millersville went up 4-2 in the first quarter, including a goal within the first minute of the contest. Emily Ryder and Taylor Hood had a goal in the opening 15 minutes 

• Iris Gluck and Reagan Rogers put up two goals apiece that elevated the Rams to a 6-4 lead at the break. Jefferson continued this tactic in the third, putting up three straight goals by I. Gluck to get her to five on the day 

• Millersville fought back and got within two goals with 7:47 to go, but Lindley Gori and Emma Baker put up the final points as the Rams took the 11-7 win over the Marauders 

• Kalyn Ammerlaan had 11 saves on the win
