Women's Lacrosse Falls Short of Late Comeback Against Lock Haven
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse (1-2) went up to go against Lock Haven University (2-1) where the Rams fell 12-8 to the Bald Eagles.
WHAT HAPPENED
- First quarter had Jefferson take an early lead with a Emily Ryder goal to start the game off. Meaghan Avanzato made her own shot in a response to Lock Haven's goal. The Bald Eagles put up two more in the first as the Rams trailed 3-2
- The second quarter was all Lock Haven as they produced six goals to make it 9-2 at the break
- Only two goals were scored in the third quarter with Taylor Hodd adding onto one of them while the other was for the Bald Eagles
- Jefferson began to make a comeback as they scored four straight goals from Reagan Rogers, Avanzato, Ryder, and Iris Gluck. Lock Haven put up two more in a 11 second span to have their lead by five goals. Lilly Lutz put in the final goal of the day as Jefferson dropped their non-conference contest to Lock Haven
- Avanzato and Ryder put up two goals apiece with I. Gluck, Hood, Rogers, and Lutz adding one apiece. I. Gluck led the team in ground balls (7), caused turnovers (6) and tied for the lead in draw controls alongside with Lindley Gori as they had three each. Kalyn Ammerlaan recorded seven saves on the day
