Adrian Brooks was a three-time All-American for the men's soccer program in the mid-70s. In 1977 and 1978, Brooks was a first-team all-American and was on the second team in 1976.

He was drafted by the Atlanta Chiefs of the North American Soccer League in 1979. In his two seasons with the team he tallied seven goals and 16 assists. In 1980 he began playing Major Indoor Soccer League. In four seasons in the league—two with the Denver Avalanche and two with the Baltimore Blast—he scored 52 goals and dished out 62 assists.
