Joe Ryan was the head cross country and track & field coach at Philadelphia Textile from 1975-90.

During his tenure, Ryan’s teams produced 20 All-Americans. He was named the District Coach of the Year twice for track & field.

Ryan served as President of the NCAA Division II Coaches Association for both cross country and track & field. He also had stints on the IC4A Advisory Board and the NCAA Division II National Championship Committee.

Outside of coaching, Ryan has officiated countless meets in the Philadelphia area for several years. He is currently the chief official for the famed Penn Relays, where he has been an official for over 55 years.
