Sortino guided the Lady Rams women’s basketball team to a 96-29 overall record and two NCAA tournaments during her career. In the opening round of the 1998 NCAA tournament, Sortino helped lead the Lady Rams to a 63-59 victory over nationally-ranked Stonehill College. Playing the guard position Sortino racked up 1,573 points, 526 assists and 243 steals. She is second on the all-time assists and steals list and seventh in points. During the 1995-96 campaign Sortino dished out 176 assists, which is the fourth-highest total in a single season.
