Bob Ludwig was a two-time All-American for the Rams in 1967 and 1968. In his career Ludwig tallied 166 points (50 goals, 55 assists) and helped the team record its longest unbeaten streak of 39 games (37-0-2).

After graduation Ludwig became part of the men's soccer team's coaching staff as an assistant under Philadelphia University Hall of Fame head coach Walt Chyzowych. The Rams won 59 games and twice reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament in Ludwig's five years as an assistant.
